Cover Up – This Friday

Cover Up

More funky fresh goodness from the Cover Up boys. Join the group to stay informed. Serious grooves in an old underground toilet opposite Shepherd’s Bush tube station.Last month was insanely good, and this Friday promises to be even better. You know the score by now. Funk, boogaloo, hip hop, Brasilian goodness, and happy vibes on the dancefloor. It’s all love. This month we’re joined by DJ Lorrin, master of all things soulful and funky, often seen rocking crowds and dazzling festival-goers as his alter ego “Captain Disco”. Also prepare to be wowed by the fantastic Samantha Heard, recently back from a triumphant trip to LA, and rocking our world with tracks from their shiny new album.
The Fontanas are quite simply what Cover up is all about. With grooved up covers of everything from Bill Withers to Grange Hill, plus their own blend of nu-funk goodness, they are guaranteed to have faces smiling and feet stomping into the early hours.

DJ C-Boogie has been digging away in his loft this week and come out considerably dustier and happier. This is going to be a good one. Prepare yourselves for a great deal of BO!-ing. Funk, Hip Hop, Boogaloo, Salsa, Reggae, Rare Groove, Ragga, and one garage record.

DJ Lorrin has the kind of style behind the decks which makes even the most recalcitrant shufflers get their back up off the wall, and makes other DJs think “shit! Of course! Why don’t I play that record?”. Prepare to be funked right up.

SAMANTHA HEARD is a local girl who’s about to explode onto the scene. Fresh from a trip to LA during which she played the Viper Rooms and got herself on TV and the Radio, and with a brand new, shiny, fresh from the studio album to promote, this is her homecoming gig and ought to be fiery. You’ll remember this evening when she’s all famous and stuff…
